How to book an MOT with us

If your vehicle is due for an MOT then getting it booked in with us is easy. 

 

We can usually accommodate a vehicle the same day. Simply give us a call on

01795 841 007 or pop into the office and we will check our availability. 

 

For the booking, all we need is a name, vehicle make or model, registration and contact number. 

 

You can have your vehicle's MOT carried out up to 30 days in advance of the expiry date and we take bookings all year round. 

 

If you are looking for a date further in advance you can email admin@tomsettkent.com and we will arrange something for you. 

 

What is an MOT?

An MOT is a legally required annual test to ensure your vehicle meets legal road safety and environmental standards.

An MOT isn't the same as having your vehicle serviced and does not check the general mechanical condition. The MOT does not cover the condition of the:

- Engine

- Clutch

- Gearbox

You must get an MOT for your vehicle before the anniversary of the old MOT.

 

An MOT lasts for a year and the expiry date is printed on your certificate along with the first date you can present your vehicle for testing the following year.

 

You can get an MOT up to a month before it runs out and still keep the same renewal date.

First MOT with us?

If your vehicle is due for its first mot we advise that you bring with you your registration document (V5C). This can save any problems that may occur when it comes to entering the vehicle details into the DVLA computer system. Usually the system will already have the details but it is best to bring it just in case. If you have a new vehicle then the MOT will be due three years from the first date of registration.
